Online searches for 'Cotswolds properties' exploded 714 per cent hours after a BBC show aired.

The Cotwolds was featured in the semi-final episode of Interior Design Masters on April 20.

Findings by DIY guide Evolving Home showed that online searches for 'Cotswolds properties' increased to over eight times the average just after viewers saw three designers renovate luxury lakeside holiday lodges in the Cotswolds.

Google searches for 'Cotswolds properties for sale' shot up by 1,130 per cent, while 'Cotswold homes for sale' searches were up 1,657 per cent in the UK on April 20.

Searches for 'Cotswolds rent' increased by 629 per cent in the UK the day after the BBC aired the episode, and 'Rent in cotswolds' searches exploded by 766 per cent in the UK at the same time.

A spokesperson for Evolving Home said: "We have seen big changes over the last few years, as the pandemic and surge in remote working has sparked a desire in people to leave big cities and escape to the country.
