Cotswold woman caught drink driving

A 24 year old Bourton on the Water woman who was caught driving outside a fast food outlet while more than two and a half times over the alcohol limit has been banned from the roads for 20 months.

Bethany Black of Rye Crescent, Bourton, has also been ordered to pay £855 in fines and costs.

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court Black pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda Citigo at KFC, Centrum Park, Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham on October 8th 2021 while she had 95mcgs of alcohol on her breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

The magistrates fined her £700 and ordered her to pay a £70 surcharge and £85 costs.

She was banned from driving for 20 months but told she can reduce that by 20 weeks if she takes a Government approved driving course at her own expense by 22nd Nov next year.

The magistrates said that in deciding the penalty for Black they had taken into account her prompt guilty plea, her mental health issues and her lack of previous convictions.
