Top chef faces pledges to walk through fire for school

If there is an opposite version of 'if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen' the Cotswold chef Ethan Rodgers looks like he's found it.

Cirencester-based Mr Rodgers, whose skills in the kitchen are renowned, has pledged to take on a fire walk at the weekend to raise money for Miserden C of E Primary School.

Usually found in front of the stove and wielding pans at the acclaimed restaurant Made By Bob the chef, previously also of the award winning Lucky Onion Group's Bell Inn in Sapperton, will be one of 30 taking on the challenge.

"Miserden is a small school so does not receive the same funding as larger village schools. I have always been tempted by crazy ideas and at least this one is for a good cause," said Mr Rodgers.

The fire walk is due to take place on Saturday, September 21.
