Cotswold brewery's Clarkson lager tops bestsellers

A Gloucestershire brewery is celebrating after the new lager it is producing in partnership with former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson shot to number one in the beer and lager category on Amazon.

It was selling so fast there were initially fears the supply might run dry.

The Cotswold Brewing Company, based at Bourton-on-the-Water, is brewing Hawkstone using barley grown on Clarkson's Chipping Norton farm Diddly Squat.

Emma Keene, who runs the brewery with her husband Rick, said: "We couldn't be happier with the public's overwhelmingly positive reaction."

Only eight hours after launching with a party at the brewery, the premium lager saw a frenzy online, raising concerns they might sell out before Christmas.

Emma said: "So many customers are bulk-buying for themselves and loved ones for the festive season.

"Although there are concerns about stock running out, our team is working round the clock to make sure everyone who orders Hawkstone lager was a very merry Christmas."
