Cirencester business joins Gloucester Food Dock

The twelfth business at Gloucester Food Dock is set to open its doors next week.

Roots + Seeds will open on Tuesday, April 8. After establishing a successful restaurant in Cirencester, co-owners and school friends Toby Baggott and Sam Lawson-King are thrilled to be bringing their selection of field-to-fork breakfast, brunch and lunch options to the Docks.

Toby and Sam said: "We are both so excited to bring our local and seasonal menu to Gloucester and share dishes that highlight some of the amazing producers of Gloucestershire. We're really looking forward to joining a fantastic food community of like-minded businesses here at the Food Dock."

The opening of Roots + Seeds brings a fresh lunch selection to the Food Dock, from light bites and takeaway options made to order in the kitchen to hearty mains.

On the brasserie-style lunch menu, visitors will find dishes such as beer battered fish and chips, the Roots + Seeds cheeseburger with skin on fries, and a sticky toffee pudding. The business also has a regularly changing specials board with dishes dictated by the seasons.

With a selection of ingredients sourced from suppliers within a 25-mile radius and its own kitchen garden, Roots + Seeds café is a celebration of local produce and fresh ingredients.

Ken Elliott, co-owner of Gloucester Food Dock, said, "With this opening, all of the Deck and Quayside spaces are now occupied. Roots + Seeds bring another dimension to the cuisine of the Food Dock, along with bags of personality.

"Their passion and creativity will be a great addition to our growing community. The indoor space is light and airy and a great place to meet for a coffee, brunch or lunch, with outside seating available in time for the warm weather."
