Chelsea Pensioner to speak at CIPD event
29th September 2017
There is a chance to meet a Chelsea Pensioner at an event organised by the Gloucestershire branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) next week.
The event takes place on Wednesday, October 4, at 6pm at the Park Campus of University of Gloucestershire.
This world café style event will help CIPD members understand the strengths of the talent pool of former service personnel.
It will highlight the help and support the military give to employers who recruit service personnel at the end of their service.
You will hear from John Carbis, who served in the Royal Engineers from 1947 to 1970, and who has been a Chelsea Pensioner since 1997. He will talk about the values and characteristics of service personnel.
Michelle Claridge will present the findings from her research about employing service personnel.
Finally Michael Gilbert, regional employer relationship manager, and Elly Cooper, regional manager South West, of Career Transition Partnership, will outline the help and support available to employers.
