Caribbean food company pays it forward for the homeless

A Caribbean food company set up in Gloucestershire last year is cooking up a banquet for 60 homeless people this weekend.
Jamaica Inn Kitchen provides tasty Caribbean food for festivals, events and markets. Since starting the business, Jamaica Inn has been operating a pay it forward scheme, to raise funds to provide as many hot meals as possible for the homeless in Stroud. It has raised £680.52 so far and, working with Marah charitable organisation to support vulnerable adults, it will serve the meals up this Saturday (28th April) with the money raised.
Derrick McLean, of Jamaica Inn Kitchen, said: "We are hoping to raise awareness and to make a little bit of difference to the sad situation regarding homelessness today. This seemed a perfect way to try to help and as always the Stroud community have been fully supportive in contributing to this cause, thank you Stroud and Marah Trust for working so hard over the years and for helping us get this off the ground."
Jamaica Inn Kitchen will continue its pay it forward scheme into the future and will contribute by providing hot meals for the homeless and vulnerable locally.
