Cake-flavoured birthday cards launch

Online greetings company Moonpig has launched a collection of edible cake-flavoured birthday cards.

The move is aimed to coincide with the return of the nation's favourite baking show - the Great British Bake Off for its 12th season.

To tap into the enthusiasm for the show customers send a friend or loved one a birthday card and a cake rolled into one - what the company is calling 'a batch made in heaven'!

There's Lemon Drizzle, Victoria Sponge, Decadent chocolate or a creamy, luxurious Swiss roll. Or the classic Battenberg.

Moonpig has created cards-come-cakes for every birthday occasion. All five birthday cards in the limited-edition collection are edible and taste just like their namesake.

Sarah-Jane Porter, Head of Cards and Licensing, said: "Creating a range of edible cards for the start of the new series was a no-brainer.

"The new collection is the icing on the cake of Moonpig's already popular cake themed birthday card offering and we're excited to see how they go down with our customers."
