Bloodhound and cyber tech teams offer workshops to students

With the opening in September 2017 of Gloucestershire's newest secondary school and engineering college, the SGS Berkeley Green campus is delivering on its promise to provide a curriculum to year 10 and 12 students with a passion for a science and technology rich curriculum focussed on engineering, digital and cyber security.

To drive the Berkeley Green initiative forward, the renowned Bloodhound Project and Cyber Tech Team are back on board to deliver two free workshops.

The Bloodhound Project is a global engineering adventure, using a 1000mph world land speed record attempt to inspire the next generation to enjoy, explore and get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, whilst the Cyber Tech Team are the in-house UTC experts preparing the next generation of cyber aficionados.

The Bloodhound and Cyber Tech teams are offering a free workshop at Berkeley Green on Saturday 26th January 2019 to promote the options available at the SGS Berkeley Green Engineering College and UTC. The free workshops are open to all current years 9 and 11. The events will run from 9.30am - 12.30pm and to register please visit:

Andrew Keenan, assistant principal of SGS Berkeley Green UTC comments: 'We are really thrilled to have the involvement of the Bloodhound and Cyber teams with Berkeley Green.

"The events will be a great opportunity to enthuse young people with a passion for engineering, design, cyber and science and will demonstrate how the curriculum on offer comes to life through the use of innovative projects and employer designed briefs in order to contextualise theory into practical use.

We are delighted with the continued interest in places for September 2019. Young people and their parents are really enthused by the design of the curriculum which has the backing and input of major employers in the region who are seeing Berkeley Green as the opportunity to develop their own home-grown talented workforce'.
