A team from the company donated their time and materials on Saturday to fit out the new Pied Piper shop on Court Road, Brockworth.

Led by Barnwood director John Morgan, the company team included Matt Harker, Matt Perry, Phil Baker and Grant Ruddy. From shelving to racking to counter tops and interior walls, the works progressed like clockwork. Barnwood has also kindly provided a shop counter, metal cages for sorting clothing and noticeboards.

Pied Piper chairman Nick Broady: "This is an exciting new chapter for Pied Piper and we are indebted to Barnwood for helping us on the road to retail. We are planning to open mid June but will be taking shop donations before then.

"As ever we couldn't stage this without the help of local businesses who support us with time and expertise, and Barnwood have done a top job! We look forward to being at the heart of the Brockworth community and raising vital funds for the sick and disabled children from recycling and upcycling."

Pied Piper's new retail manager, Louise Taylor, was on hand to make drinks for the Barnwood team and help plan the layout, assisted by the Pied Piper bear (alias Paul Baldwin). Louise comes to the charity with retail and charity experience having recently managed various Longfield Hospice shops, and before that Daisychain Benevolent Fund and Laura Ashley.

"Clothing and shoes for ladies, men and kiddies, toys, books and home accessories, even furniture, we accept all your kind donations," said Louise. "We are also recruiting volunteers whether for a couple of hours or morning/afternoon, please do get in touch to join our team and help with sorting and selling. No experience required just a willing hand."

Various charity bags drop off points are being set up around the county at Malvern Tyres depots and Avenue Cars to make it even more convenient to drop your black bags off.

If you have items to donate or can lend a hand and join the rota please call Louise on 07544 056588.
