Award-winning children's author stepping back to Roman Cirencester

Award-winning children's author Caroline Lawrence will be revealing her writing secrets when she visits Cirencester on Friday.

The novelist who wrote the best-selling Roman Mysteries series is visiting the Corinium Museum on November 24 to deliver a series of special workshops to local schools.

Caroline will be sharing her secrets of how she uses ancient artefacts and modern storytelling techniques to write her historical novels for children, which are set in Roman times.

The children will be able to learn from this famous author first-hand in the perfect Roman setting of the museum, and Caroline said: "The museum is a gem. It's an honour to be returning."

Museum Director, Amanda Hart said: "Caroline is such a lively and fun speaker, who brings everything about the Roman period to life.

"Her new Roman Quests books, set in Roman Britain, feature objects that are on display in the Corinium Museum, so it is a treat to have her here in the museum to talk about them."
