Air pistol found after attempted robbery in Cinderford supermarket

A man is in police custody after an attempted robbery in Cinderford on Thursday afternoon.

Police received reports of a man in possession of an imitation fire arm at the Co-op store in Dockham Road at around 4.30pm.

The man was arrested shortly afterwards and an air pistol was recovered from the scene.

The man, who is in his 50s, is in police custody and Gloucestershire Constabulary have confirmed that no-one was injured and nothing was stolen from the store.
