Accountancy firm strengthens team with appointment of new partner

McGills Chartered Accountants, which has offices in Cirencester and Malmesbury, has appointed Helen Jones as a partner.

Ms Jones joined McGills as partner designate early in 2019. Before joining McGills, she spent nearly 20 years at another Gloucestershire-based accountancy firm, rising through the ranks to become a director as the firm merged with a top 10 firm.

She is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and, in September 2019, also joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), gaining ACA status as a chartered accountant.

She is also a certified advisor for both the Xero and Sage Business Cloud software packages and has particular expertise in advising owner-managed businesses, as well as land and property firms, and has a strong background in general practice.

Her appointment forms part of McGills Chartered Accountants' ambitious plans to bring its personal level of service to more clients from across the region.

Ms Jones said: "The past few months have been some of the most challenging that many business owners have ever known. With the path to rebuilding and recovery looking highly uncertain, quality accountancy and business advice has never been more important.

"At McGills, we take pride in building strong relationships at partner-level with each of our clients, ensuring that the advice we offer is based on a deep understanding of their circumstances, values and goals.

"I hope that in my new role, I will be able to help clients grow back stronger as we recover from the economic consequences of the pandemic."

Simon Nuttall, a partner at McGills Chartered Accountants, added: "Our clients have really valued Helen's input and advice during the time she has been with us and I am confident that she will make a major contribution to their success in her new role as a partner."
