A new hospital may be built to replace the Dilke and Lydney hospitals in the Forest of Dean.

The new community hospital would cost £11 million although the site has not yet been agreed.

Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust and NGS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group has launched a 12 week consultation.

If the plan gets the final go-ahead the new hospital would be built by 2022.

The new hospital could provide a more efficient and comprehensive service for patients, the Forester newspaper reports.
