Housebuilder celebrates Roald Dahl at developments in Gloucestershire

Young visitors to two Bellway developments in Gloucestershire enjoyed a day of big friendly fun celebrating the stories of children's author Roald Dahl.
Bellway hosted the events at Forest Walk in Lydney and Blackthorn Walk in Gloucester to mark Roald Dahl Day on September 13 - the writer's birthday.

Children had their faces painted as some of the best-loved characters from Roald Dahl's stories while sales advisors handed out sweet treats and copies of the author's books.
At Forest Walk, caricaturist Charles Everett created delightful portraits for the children to keep.
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, which provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children, was promoted at the events - with QR codes on display so visitors could donate.
Daniel Shone, head of sales for Bellway, said: "The stories of Roald Dahl have enchanted generations of children and are a firm favourite on family bookshelves.
"With Wales being the place of his birth and childhood, just over the border from Gloucestershire, we thought it would be a great idea to celebrate the memorable stories and characters that he created in the homes we're building for families here.
"Our splendiferous story day was a great success, with children enjoying face-painting and fun, and of course, no event about Roald Dahl's books would be complete without some sweet treats worthy of the famous Chocolate Factory!"
