STEP UP: Climbing attraction to open at Gloucester Quays

Peel Retail & Leisure has announced that Clip 'n Climb, the pre-eminent family friendly climbing attraction, will be opening its latest all-action venue at Gloucester Quays next year.

The new 14,000 sq ft anchor will be located on the upper deck of the destination, strengthening its mix of retail and leisure.

The venue will feature 19 climbing challenges, including Clip 'n Climb's signature attractions "Vertical Drop Slide" and "Stairway to Heaven". In addition, the new site will include a large multi-level soft play area and the exclusive South Ridge Café, offering visitors the chance to recharge and refuel as part of the experience.

The signing is a game-changing addition to the upper deck venue; an area that Peel Retail & Leisure has long earmarked for indoor sport, recreation and fitness, to complement Gloucester Quays' retail line-up.

Paul Carter, asset director at Peel Retail & Leisure, said: "Clip 'n Climb's signing at Gloucester Quays is the adrenaline-pumping, thrilling attraction we have been targeting for this unique, spacious upper deck setting.

"This is the perfect addition to our strong retail and leisure offer and strengthens our position as a true crossover destination, appealing to shoppers as well as visitors looking for a more rounded experience."

Danny Hodgson, commercial manager at Clip n Climb, said: "Gloucester Quays has always been on our radar as a location to expand into. It's a truly special place with a strong sense of community, appealing to both locals, climbing enthusiasts and those travelling from further afield.

"We're excited to welcome everyone, from age two to 102, to enjoy a variety of challenges that cater to all abilities and encourage families to be active together."

This news follows the 8,000 sq ft of new menswear and gifting brand announcements at Gloucester Quays, including the signings of a new Ben Sherman store, Label Yard and Menkind, and the relocation and upsize of Crew Clothing. The completion of these lettings means Gloucester Quays is now 98% let or under offer.
