PoloWorks announces new chief risk officer

PoloWorks, a leading Lloyd's and London Market insurance services business, has appointed Raphael Borrel to the role of chief risk officer.

PoloWorks has offices at Grange Park in Bishop's Cleeve and in London.

Raphael will report to Paul Andrews, chief executive officer of PoloWorks and Polo Managing Agency, and will be responsible for leading the risk and compliance functions, providing oversight across Polo Management Agency and PoloWorks' business advisory and outsourced services.

Raphael said: "PoloWorks' consistent growth and focus on digitisation are what excites me about joining. At its core, PoloWorks is a consultancy that is constantly developing to meet the needs of the market and its customers.

"PoloWorks stands out in the market with its dynamic and ambitious approach to the optimisation of services for its customers. I'm looking forward to working closely with the team to support customer needs and the delivery of our strategy."

Raphael brings more than 25 years of risk management and compliance experience. Prior to joining PoloWorks, he was director of risk management for CNA Hardy. Before this, Raphael was chief risk officer of XL Catlin Services, and also head of information risk at AXA XL.

Paul Andrews said: "Raphael's deep risk expertise will be an asset to the team at PoloWorks. His strong background in the market and knowledge of the risk and compliance sectors means he is well suited to help develop PoloWorks' offerings and regulatory requirements.

"I'm looking forward to working with Raphael on reaching our strategic goals and another year of growth and exciting developments for PoloWorks."
