New VR attraction opens in Gloucester

Gloucester is the first UK location for a brand-new virtual reality attraction.

Family entertainment specialist, We Do Play, is teaming up with VRXtra, a provider of cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) software, to bring the new attraction to the city.

The VR studio, with space for up to 16 players with VR headsets and tethered stations, opened in the old Primark at Kings Walk Shopping Centre on Saturday (February 10).

The site is also home to a brand-new Laser Quest and next door to the Putt Putt Noodle golf and sushi concept.

Rich Beese, We Do Play co-founder, said: "This is a real first in the South West and the first of many VRxtra sites that We Do Play will be opening. The game play is amazing, and the technology is flawless.

"It is geared up for avid gamers, fun seekers and people looking for something totally out of this world. We will offer parties and varied sessions for every type of customer. We really are so excited to unleash this in Gloucester as our maiden site."

Gloucester is already home to Virtual Reality Arcade on Southgate Street.
