Crowdfund Cotswold campaign seeks more ideas

Cotswold District Council (CDC) is calling for more, wide-ranging project ideas that will improve communities across the region.

Celebrating three years of success since its launch in February 2021, Crowdfund Cotswold continues to be a source of innovation for Cotswold communities, raising over £800,000 for 36 outstanding projects.

To ignite the creativity of communities, the Council is hosting a Crowdfund Cotswold workshop on February 22 from 12-1:00 pm. The workshop aims to guide potential project creators through the process of turning their ideas into reality, providing insights into available funding opportunities, and offering valuable advice on creating compelling crowdfunding campaigns.

The online workshop is free to attend for anyone who has ideas to improve their local area.

Cllr Lisa Spivey, cabinet member for communities and public safety at CDC, said: "As Crowdfund Cotswold marks its third anniversary, I am immensely proud of what our community has achieved. The projects funded through the scheme highlight the creativity and innovation at the heart of the Cotswolds. However, there are more stories to be written.

"We are calling on all residents and community groups to come forward with their innovative ideas. Your ideas, big or small, are the seeds of positive change. Let's make the Cotswold District an even better place to live, work, and thrive. Together, we can help shape the future of the Cotswolds."

Crowdfund Cotswold welcomes a wide range of project ideas.

Projects need to be local and serve a community purpose. Crowdfund Cotswold projects can be simple and creative such as a street mural or community garden, or more ambitious such as hosting large community events or feasibility studies.

Projects must be in the UK and can be led by any type of organisation or individual, you do not have to be a charity.

The Crowdfund Cotswold project archive has many examples of the types of projects that crowdfund with us.
