Cheltenham zero carbon homes reach big milestone

Newland Homes has announced a significant milestone at its Pear Trees development in Leckhampton.

The development has reached 85% sold status, showing its popularity for people looking for a modern, zero carbon home in the town.

Lena Deysner and Phil Stephens sold their homes in Cheltenham to move in together at Pear Trees in Leckhampton, using Newland Homes' part exchange scheme in the process.

Lena said: "We wanted somewhere with excellent living space, a good-sized main bedroom, parking, a double garage and modern interiors too. However, there's not that much variety in the town. We both work from home and didn't want to take on the hassle of a renovation project or to live in a building site for months."

The couple moved into their brand-new home at Pear Trees earlier this year, in just six weeks from reservation to completion, using part exchange.

Part exchange is one of the many schemes Newland Homes has in place to support customers through their home buying journey. The housebuilder has also recently partnered with Own New to offer the Rate Reducer Mortgage, giving access to lower mortgage rates and reduced monthly payments for up to five years.

The collection of 27 zero carbon homes on Kidnappers Lane is powered by renewable technologies. Newland Homes has integrated innovative technologies and sustainable practices into the development to create homes that are comfortable, stylish and environmentally responsible.

Just three, five-bedroomed, detached homes remain for sale. Two of the remaining properties benefit from a multifunctional home office garden room.

Each home boasts solar panels which convert sunlight into energy. The energy generated by the solar panels is used to help power the home's air source heat pump (ASHP), which extracts warmth from outside air to heat water for underfloor heating, radiators and hot water in place of a traditional gas boiler.

The homes create as much regulated prime energy as they need to run, reducing energy costs and minimising the impact everyday living has on the environment.

Marcus Evans, sales and marketing director for Newland Homes, said: "The response to Pear Trees has been remarkable. It underscores the appeal of living in a modern, zero carbon home with a lighter carbon footprint, whilst also enjoying easy access to everything Cheltenham has to offer.

"We are immensely proud of what we have achieved at Pear Trees so far and look forward to welcoming more residents to this flourishing community."

Phil Stephens said: "It has been a fabulous experience buying our new home from Newland Homes. The solicitors recommended by Newland were great and the mortgage company they suggested we use pulled out all the stops to get us a more competitive interest rate on the day we were due to sign. We can't praise everyone enough. The Newland team even helped ease the stress of move in day! Overall, it has been such a positive experience."

Prices start from £1.15 million at Pear Trees in Leckhampton and tailor-made viewings are available daily between 11am to 5pm. Call 01242 350380 to book a tour.
