Cheltenham-based Superdry has brought in advisors from restructuring specialist Teneo.

The fashion retailer is continuing to explore cost-saving measures and is reported to have been working with Teneo on a turnaround plan in recent weeks, as reported by Retail Gazette.

It is the latest in a series of moves to get the brand back on track, after a challenging few months.

Julian Dunkerton, Superdry's chief executive and founder, was previously reported to have been in discussions with both Laura Ashley owner Gordon Brothers and Oak Furnitureland owner Davidson Kempner  about a takeover bid for the retailer.

It was reported that the deadline for any takeover bid was March 1, but no announcements have yet been made about whether the bid is going ahead.

Superdry reported a 23.5% fall in half year sales at the end of January, which it said was impacted by the unseasonal autumn weather, the challenging consumer market and the underperformance of its wholesale business.
