£3m docks warehouses go on the market

Three of Gloucester's historic docks warehouses are up for sale.

Bruton Knowles in Gloucester is marketing the Herbert, Kimberley and Phillpotts Warehouses for a guide price of £3,000,000.

Together, the three properties were the former headquarters of Gloucester City Council.

Named after the corn merchants which constructed them, Herbert, Kimberley and Phillpotts date back from 1846 and were built originally to accommodate the growth of Gloucester Docks during the Victorian era.

The buildings were restored and converted to offices by Gloucester City Council in 1985, including glazed linked walkways between each block. Each six-storey brick building has Grade II listed status.

Bruton Knowles said: "These exceptional properties provide a rare opportunity for a developer or owner occupier to give these buildings a new lease of life through a sympathetic refurbishment for a range of potential uses that complement the thriving commercial and residential community at this waterside location."

Doctor Foster's, the pub within Kimberley Warehouse, will continue to trade and is not for sale. The same two floors in Phillpotts Warehouse are also excluded from the sale.
