Would you run away with the circus?

A Stroud student who as a boy started his own circus in his garden is bringing his autobiographical show to his hometown theatre.

Harvey Aylmer, aged 20, has written 'The Ringmaster' which is being performed at The Cotswold Playhouse next February.

Harvey said: "This musical is perfect for families and children of all ages and was inspired by my own story. When I was 10 years old, I put the idea to my friends to produce and perform our own circus from my garden in Stroud.

"I took on the challenge to bring magic to the village, fabricating ideas from my own imagination to create the production. We raised money for Cancer Research."

Since then, Harvey has 'run away' with Giffords Circus and recently joined Bath Spa University to study theatre production.

In Harvey's new play, while moving house, Alice discovers the storybook of The Ringmaster and is instantly transported to The Royal Park, where she meets a boy called Harvey...

Harvey has always had a dream of making his own circus, and with the help from his friends, he pieces together a show that would capture the imagination of the dreamers.

This unmissable adventure for all ages challenges love, friendship, and determination - all wrapped up within their childhood dreams.

This heart-warming musical allows you to be mesmerised by the twinkling big top and to ask yourself, would you run away and join the circus?

Two shows are being performed at The Cotswold Playhouse on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
