Pedal for Maggie's marks its 10th anniversary

Maggie's is gearing up for its biggest fundraising event of the year - Pedal for Maggie's - later this month.

Registration is now open for Maggie's annual cycle ride taking place on Sunday 17th September.

Cyclists can choose to ride either 40 or 60 miles through some of the Cotswolds' most beautiful countryside and help raise invaluable funds for Maggie's in Cheltenham - supporting people living with cancer and their families and friends, across Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Herefordshire.

This year is extra special as it marks the 10th anniversary of this popular event. Tewkesbury-based Moog - experts in servo valve technology - are sponsoring this year's Pedal for Maggie's and have already fielded a team.

Moog's general manager Mark Lawton said: "Working with the local community is very important to us. We are delighted to support Maggie's by sponsoring their Cotswold Cycle Ride, Pedal for Maggie's. We are rounding up our cyclists and we hope that you can join us on the day."

The ride starts and finishes at Maggie's in Cheltenham on College Baths Road. Cyclists can set off anytime between 8am and 9am on 17th September. A welcome refreshment break can be taken at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park - around the halfway point - and a delicious spread of snacks and sweet treats will be laid out on the kitchen table at Maggie's for riders to tuck into when they finish.*

A specially commissioned bespoke medal will also be presented to all riders who complete the course.

The first 50 entrants can register for £20. Entry then rises to £23 for pre-registration with those registering on the day paying £25. You can also field a team of six for the special price of £100. All money raised through registration fees and sponsorship goes to support Maggie's in Cheltenham, a charity funded entirely by the kindness of our donors.

Centre fundraiser Ela Antosiewicz said: "We are so excited to celebrate 10 years of Pedal for Maggie's and thanks to the sponsorship from Moog we are able to make this event as big and fun as possible.

"Maggie's is here to offer free support to anyone affected by cancer and fundraising events like our bike ride enable us to continue offering emotional, financial, and psychological support to anyone who needs us.

"By taking part in this event, cyclists will be supporting their local cancer care centre, whilst enjoying a fun day out with friends."
