Kevin Howie, general manager of Gloucester City Mission, said: ''This year marks Gloucester City Mission's 20th anniversary. Since those first days we have supported those adults who are homeless, vulnerable or marginalised and we also now focus on supporting people in recovery. The key to our work is offering people hope, especially when they find it hard to see any hope or opportunity around them.

"The work of GCM has not really changed that much, it's just the scale that they work at has grown significantly. Nowadays we have a presence in the city centre six days a week, 52 weeks a year.

"We have already had a thanksgiving celebration, music festivals, skydiving, fire walking and dragon boat racing. We also have our annual Big City Sleepout coming up on October 7th and we will be having our annual carol concert in Gloucester Cathedral on December 1st."

"We are supported by so many kind and generous companies, churches, organisations and individuals and are always happy to come and talk about our work and issues facing those who we support..

"So if you fancy treating yourself to something very special or if you fancy treating someone special to something amazing then have a look at the auction page. There are a whole range of amazing one-off experiences and signed items of memorabilia.
