'Creative Futures' free music industry conference
By David Wood | 14th November 2023
The Music Works is hosting their annual music industry conference this week.
The event takes place on Thursday, November 16th 12pm-7pm and Friday 17th 4pm-5pm at their Hub in Kings Square, Gloucester.
'Creative Futures' is dedicated to empowering and guiding aspiring young creatives and helping build successful careers in the music industry.
The event will provide valuable insights, expert advice, and opportunities for collaboration, all aimed at supporting the next generation of music industry professionals.
Malaki Patterson, artistic director, The Music Works, said: "I think it's so important to highlight events like these as Gloucestershire has a lack of infrastructure to support young people into the creative industries.
"Creative Futures isn't just a one-off event; it's a platform to provide not just advice, but real, tangible opportunities for aspiring young creatives."
The conference will involve the four panels outlined below with speakers from Warner Chappell Music, BBC Introducing, Sony Music, Robots and Humans, Cygnus Music, BMG UK, Wasserman, 365 Artists Management, Metropolis Music, Europa Music Management and more:
- Panel 1 - Navigating the Roadmap for Emerging Artists
- Panel 2 - Music Publishing - The Power of Catalogue
- Panel 3 - Spotlight on Stage
- Panel 4 - Mental Health in the Creative Industries
Creative Futures is open to all but specifically aimed at ages 18-25 who are serious about building their creative career.
An attendee at last year's event said: "There was a real buzz in the room, the atmosphere and the energy really inspired our young people to network and engage with the industry professionals there."
Creative Futures is free to attend, but tickets for each panel must be booked online in advance. Head to the Fatsoma page to secure your place: https://fatso.ma/YFRG
