Christmas cheer comes to the Cotswolds

Christmas will officially begin with two free, fun events for the community in the Cotswolds.

Feeding Gloucestershire and Cotswold District Council come together as part of the Cotswold Food Network.

The event aims to bring people of all ages together to have fun and food but also importantly to showcase the support and advice that is available for families around money, health and well-being and to showcase local clubs to those who are interested.

Chief executive officer Robert Weaver said: "These events will be a great opportunity for families to come together and have fun in the run-up to Christmas.

"We appreciate that this time of year can be challenging for some families, with the added financial pressures of the Christmas season. So, we've made this event completely free and we hope to see as many people come together as possible.

"There will also be the opportunity to talk to agencies on the day, whether that's to gain advice about keeping well, financial advice or a club to join in the new year. There will be something for everybody."

There will be a Christmas theme and free activities will be on offer for children and young people provided by World Jungle.

There will be activities, food, a raffle, a children's disco and hopefully carol singing, all alongside the opportunity to talk to local agencies, groups and organisations.

The events will take place on Wednesday, November 29, from 2-6pm at Bingham Hall in Cirencester and on Tuesday, December 12, from 2-6pm at Redesdale Hall in Moreton in Marsh.

There is no need to book, just come along in your best Christmas jumper!
