Get set for an evening of Scrumpy 'n' Western

Back by popular demand, The Wurzels will be playing The Cotswold Cider Festival this May.

Taking over the refurbished Bingham Hall in Cirencester on Friday, May 31, prepare for an evening of Scrumpy 'n' Western tunes and tipples to break in the Bank Holiday.

This now annual festival's appeal continues to grow like a mighty apple tree year on year and the 2024 edition promises to be another sell-out success.

For over 50 years The Wurzels have been delighting audiences with songs stacked with double entendre, mainstream parody and comical folk stylings.

Made up of Tommy Banner, Pete Budd and Sedge Moore, The Wurzels have released a long string of albums, Greatest Hits compilations, and live LPs over the years.

Signed to label heavyweights Columbia and EMI, The Wurzels continue to play over 100 sell-out shows every year, including the greatest festivals in the land.

Their quintessentially scrump-country cover of Kaiser Chiefs' "Ruby" has been a massive show favourite of late, as well as their hilarious hip-hop version of ubiquitous hit "Combine Harvester". West Country icons travel to see these West Country heroes.

Support for the evening will come from long standing partner in countryside-related musical crimes Corky. Straight outta the farm gates of the Dauntsey Vale in north Wiltshire, Corky has made his name as an agricultural hip-hop artist and the world's greatest Scrumpy'n'Western rapper.

Over the years, Corky has supported everyone from Goldie Lookin Chain to Reef's Gary Stringer and star of the US Office, Creed Bratton. Most recently, his hit pasty-inspired parody "Ginster's Paradise" went viral and is fast becoming the unofficial 21st century national anthem of Gloucestershire & the West Country.

Undoubtedly the original and the best "Cider Drinkers" out there, this bunch of haystack-headed, not-quite-so-young lads have long paved the way for Scrumpy 'n' Western worldwide.

For the perfect accompaniment to an evening of cider drinking and good times, join The Wurzels, Corky and a bar fuller-than-full of your favourite cider brands at The Cotswold Cider Festival.

Tickets are priced @ £23.00 + BF and are available via the Bingham Hall website.
