What's On: Celebrate World Whisky Day at Koj

Where: Koj, Cheltenham

When: Saturday, May 20, 2017

Celebrate World Whisky Day on Saturday with a masterclass in Japanese whisky at new Cheltenham restaurant, Koj.

The restaurant, in Regent Street, was opened in March by MasterChef finalist Andrew Kojima who now works as a chef, food writer and cookery teacher specialising in Japanese cuisine.

His new restaurant and cocktail bar in Cheltenham offers a lunch menu of ramen, pokedon and steamed buns, all available to take away. By night it serves tasty Japanese grazing dishes including yakitori, okonomiyaki and fried chicken.

This Saturday Koj is hosting an introduction to Japanese whisky in its new upstairs bar, Kampai, to mark World Whisky Day. The bar manager will guide whisky-lovers through the history, contrasts and nuances of three whiskys from one of the best whisky-producing countries in the world.

Tickets cost £25 which includes a flight of three whiskys and two steamed buns from the restaurant's new bar menu.

The event takes place at 9pm on Saturday. To book tickets, call 01242 58455.
