TV's Bake Off star cooks up a feast at Food Festival

Winner of TV's The Great British Bake Off, Candice Brown, will headline Gloucester Quays Food Festival 2017, serving up a fantastic menu of fun, food and drink from July 28-30.

Talented Candice (pictured) will demonstrate the stunning traditional and vintage-inspired baking that has made her the talk of the foodie circuit and a red hot attraction on the Food Festival scene.

Together with live entertainment and a host of fabulous foodie attractions, there will be something for all the family to enjoy at Gloucester Quays Food Festival and for the first time ever this year all the celebrity chef demonstrations will be free to attend.

Gloucester Quays centre manager Matt Bird said: "We are thrilled to be welcoming Candice Brown together with Stefan Gates and The Fabulous Baker Brothers to this year's Food Festival. Their live cooking demonstrations and fantastic skills are, I'm sure, going to be hugely popular with our visitors.

"Plus, with free entry to the cooking demos for the first time ever, we're looking forward to being able to share the fun with even more families and visitors."

The sizzling summer fun begins in the Cookery Theatre on Friday, July 28 when TV's Stefan Gates of CBBC's Incredible Edibles will be taking part in interactive kids cooking demonstrations. These will include spectacular food science tricks and wild and wacky cooking ideas for kids of all ages.

Then on Saturday July 29 Tom and Henry Herbert, better known as TV's The Fabulous Baker Brothers, will be demonstrating their baking skills. Tom and Henry also own the award-winning Hobbs House Bakeries in Tetbury, Nailsworth, Chipping Sodbury, Bristol and Malmesbury.

Candice Brown, 2016 winner of TV's The Great British Bake Off, will be the star celebrity chef at the Food Festival on Sunday July 30. Candice has taken the foodie world by storm after swapping teaching for baking with spectacular success.

All of the celebrity chefs will be taking part in book signings when there will be the opportunity for visitors to meet them on each day of the festival.

Now in its seventh year, Gloucester Quays Food Festival attracted almost 150,000 people in 2016 and is now firmly established as the biggest event of its type in the South West.

The Food Festival Market will feature an eclectic mix of stalls with an incredible mix of award-winning cuisine from across Gloucestershire and beyond, plus cookware, crafts, accessories and lots more.

The Lawn Stage will showcase a variety of live music to enjoy, surrounded by fantastic street food, delicious ice cream and sweet treats together with bars serving up a variety of cooling summer drinks.

There is also the chance to hop on to a vintage Routemaster bus converted into a funky double decker bus bar with waterside seating, great food and drink with DJs spinning perfect festival sounds.

Matt Bird said: "With so many great attractions at the Food Festival this year we believe there is something to cater for all tastes in the wonderful dockside setting of Gloucester Quays."
