Cheltenham is heating up for a Street Chilli Fiesta

Cheltenham businesses are coming together to support the town's first Street Chilli Fiesta.

From 10am on 3 June, Cambray Place will be the hottest spot in town when up to 15 traders, all specialising in some form of chilli produce, lay out their stalls.

There will also be a 'Clash of the Titans' contest to see who can eat the hottest chilli.

Belinda Hunt, operations manager from Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID) said: "Local businesses are really pleased that the BID is looking at this area as a venue for events.

"It's great to see how many establishments are getting into the spirit of things.

"The nearby butcher and deli are creating some special chilli sausages for the event and one of the local pubs is even having an unusual beer brewed."

Wild Beer has some special additions to their menu; BBQ chilli chicken wings and chilli dogs.

A chilli beer will be on tap to go with the culinary creations, with tasting sessions of the locally crafted brew throughout the day. The BBQ chicken wings will be on the menu in the bar from the Thursday.

The Butcher's Block in Grosvenor Terrace is working on some hot and spicy sausage recipes, and refining its rubs and marinades.

Farmhouse Deli on The High Street will have chilli sausages, sausage rolls and cheeses to add to their extensive range for people to snack on or take home.

The Breeze Radio's Craig Wright will on the scene to liven up the day and compere the 'Clash of the Titans' chilli eating contest.
