Pets at Home opens convenience stores

Britain's biggest pet retailer is branching out from retail parks.

Pets at Home has opened two smaller stores in London suburbs, Sutton and Whetstone, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The new shops are both located at the base of residential buildings, with limited parking.

At around 5,000sq ft, they are significantly smaller than their usual stores, like those in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester, and unable to offer the vet and grooming services usually available.

Pets at Home already has a number of smaller stores in London.

Punchline-Gloucester.com said: "After the success of Little Dobbies, which opened on The Promenade in Cheltenham a year ago, could we see Pets at Home opening on more high streets across the UK?"
