REVEALED: Dramatic video hails Gloucester's rebirth

If there were any doubt that Gloucester is being transformed as a destination city, a new video released today by Gloucester City Council should put pay to that.

This stylishly produced reel, produced by Gloucester City Council, showcases the progress the city is making towards its transformation as a hub for business, study and recreation while tracking how far we've come - and the short distance left to the finish line.

A walk (and fly) through some of the key elements of work offers updates on key projects including the Forum, the revamping of King's Square and the repurposing of the former Debenham's building as a seat of academic achievement. It also covers many of 70 listed buildings on Westgate Street that are being included in the regeneration drive.

The video says: "It's an exciting time for Gloucester and we're doing everything we can to make it fit for the future as a better place for you to live, work and visit."

Punchline-Gloucester.com says: Wow! Councils can be criticised for not doing enough, or allocating their sparse budgets in the wrong places. But there is a time when it's appropriate for a team talk on where our beloved city is going. And what better time than now, when progress on all the hard work and investment made so far is clearly worth celebrating? Well done, GCC, on this upbeat update!
