Automotive manufacturer wins two awards

A Gloucester-based automotive manufacturing company has scooped two industry awards.

G-TEM received the awards for Energy Efficiency and for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) at the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM) Awards 2024.

After receiving the finalist nominations last month, the company said it was "beyond proud" to announce it had received the awards at a "truly memorable" event.

G-TEM said its win for HSE Initiative of the Year underscores the company's steadfast dedication to prioritising health, safety, and environmental sustainability across all aspects of its operations.

"Our comprehensive health and safety management system is certified to ISO45001:2018 by Bureau Veritas and embodies our commitment to creating a safe and sustainable workplace for our employees, contractors, and visitors," it said.

"This award recognises our proactive approach to implementing innovative HSE practices and initiatives that not only ensure the well-being of our team but also contribute to our continued push towards sustainability. It highlights our continuous efforts to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental stewardship in everything we do."

G-TEM's secured a second consecutive win in the Energy Efficiency Initiative of the Year category which it said underscored its steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

"Our innovative energy efficiency initiatives have not only reduced our carbon footprint but also positioned us as leaders within the automotive industry," it said.

"This award acknowledges our proactive efforts to optimise energy usage throughout our facilities, from implementing large solar arrays to enacting energy-saving policies in our operations. We continue to stay motivated in continuing our journey towards a more sustainable future, where energy efficiency remains a fundamental part of our business."

G-TEM has two plants in Gloucester - at Gloucester Business Park and at Brockworth - as well as plants in Ebbw Vale and Tredegar, Wales.

Specialising in body-in-white engineering and manufacturing for over 25 years in the UK, G-TEM works with some of the largest and most prestigious automotive brands across Europe.
