Professional body endorsement for Hartpury degree
By Sarah Wood | 8th November 2021
Hartpury University's BSc (Hons) sport and exercise nutrition programme has received endorsement from the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR).
SENR is a nationally recognised quality mark for people working in all areas of sports and exercise nutrition. The purpose of SENR is to promote the highest standards of education and services through its various registrations and accreditations.
The process of undergraduate programme endorsement recognises that the course has been mapped to the SENR knowledge competencies at an undergraduate level. Further progression into an appropriate postgraduate qualification would allow an individual to apply for acceptance on the organisation's graduate register.
James Stanbury, lecturer in sport and exercise nutrition at Hartpury, has also received recognition from the institution, having been successful in applying for SENR practitioner registration.
This process confirms an individual's competency to work autonomously with performance-oriented athletes, as well as those participating in physical activity, sport and exercise for health. SENR practitioners meet the highest professional standards and competencies set by the body.
James Stanbury said: "We're delighted that our BSc sport and exercise nutrition programme has been recognised by this most prestigious of bodies within our industry.
"This exciting endorsement means that successful completion of this degree acts as a vital first step towards graduate registration with SENR.
"Here at Hartpury University, we're committed to establishing and building on professional links and accreditations, allowing our graduates to boost their skills, knowledge and employability. This latest endorsement adds further prestige and credibility to our exciting sport and exercise nutrition degree."
