One Gloucestershire health and social care recruitment event

One Gloucestershire is holding a health and social care recruitment event on Wednesday (September 28).

Hospitals, GP surgeries and community and social care organisations are looking for people who can provide safe, high quality and compassionate care to individuals across the county in a variety of settings.

The event takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse from 8am - 7pm.

Interviews will be held on the day for full and part-time roles including care assistant, healthcare assistant, care giver, support worker and care worker.

Duties include:

• Monitoring individuals' conditions by taking their temperature, pulse, respiration and weight and possibly helping with medication

• Helping individuals to move around

• Making individuals feel comfortable

• Serving meals and helping to feed individuals

• Supporting individuals with social and physical activities

• Booking and going with individuals to appointments

• Helping with personal care such as support with showering and dressing

Examples of the settings candidates may work in:

• Community hospitals

• Mental health and learning disability services

• Acute hospitals (Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital)

• Social care - in a care home, a person's own home or a day service environment

• GP practices

Successful candidates will have positive attitudes and behaviours, such as:

• Caring and compassionate

• Wanting to make a difference to individuals they care for

• Listening and communication skills

• Understanding and empathetic

• Respectful and kind
