International cyber business joins Cheltenham cyber hub

Northrop Grumman Corporation has signed an agreement as an anchor tenant for Hub8's Gloucestershire College office space at its Cheltenham campus.

The company is a leading provider of full-spectrum cyber across land, air, sea and space - from preventing cyber attacks to securing military communications.

Hub8's office is designed as a place where businesses, academic staff and students can interact, and Northrop Grumman's new office is part of its continued commitment to developing cyber talent and partnership opportunities with the college and member businesses.

Nick Chaffey, chief executive of Northrop Grumman in the UK, Europe and Middle East, said: "Bringing together large companies such as Northrop Grumman with some of the UK's brightest young companies is a valuable combination for spurring innovation. Becoming a part of Hub8 underscores our commitment to developing UK cyber talent and innovation."

Bruce Gregory, managing director of Hub8, said: "We are delighted to welcome Northrop Grumman to the Hub8 community. Cheltenham is home to a thriving cyber security ecosystem.

"At the centre of this ecosystem is Hub8 and its growing network of innovation and co-working spaces in and around Cheltenham, that bring together best-in-class start-ups, SMEs and global companies in the cyber-tech and digital sectors on the one part and academia, government and the wider community on the other, to create the ideal platform for organic growth and collaboration."

Northrop Grumman's office in Hub8 joins the company's existing cyber and technology facilities in Cheltenham, London, Manchester and New Malden, as the company invests in building high-tech jobs and critical capabilities in the UK.
