Gloucestershire College celebrates four years in Cinderford

It's been four years since Gloucestershire College opened its Forest campus in Cinderford.

Built in 2018 with sustainability in mind, the thriving campus has seen four cohorts of students go on to launch successful careers and attend university, after completing courses in a huge range of areas, including art and design, beauty, business, catering, computing, construction, early years, foundation studies, hairdressing and health and social care.

Staff and students from across the campus have told Gloucestershire College what makes it so special.

Jos, Games Design and Development Level 3: "There's less people, but in a good way. It's less crowded - just calmer, nice and more relaxed."

Sophie, Business Level 3: "There's a lot of good facilities here at the campus - we've got a big open cafeteria where you can meet other people."

Thom, Forensic Computing and Cyber Security Level 3: "It's close to me - I can walk here every day from my house which makes life a lot easier for me."

Lisa, student mentor: "There's a great opportunity to use the local environment - could be abseiling, walking, bike riding. It's great for team building, socialisation and well-being as well."

Sophie, Catering and Hospitality Level 3: "My favourite thing has to be the people here. Meeting everyone and the friends I've made."

Abigail, lecturer in Early Years: "My favourite thing is the environment that we teach in. We're very lucky that lots of the settings that the students go into have forest schools, so obviously we've got the most fantastic resource out there to help educate them about how to use what we've got on our doorstep."

Aimee, Hairdressing Level 3: "The atmosphere is great everywhere. You get to work with people you get on with in the salon."
