Future Me support for young people
By Sarah Wood | 2nd June 2021
Future Me Gloucestershire is a new resource from the county council which supports young people aged 16-25 in Gloucestershire to prepare for adulthood.
Future Me is made up of a team of youth representatives aged 16-25, each bringing their own experiences, stories and skills to share. They have created resource packs, newsletters and social media profiles using their collective experiences and skills to help support other young people in accessing the information and resources they need.
Topics covered include education, careers and training, as well as areas like mental health and wellbeing.
Young people in Gloucestershire looking for advice on education, employment and training can access the Future Me information pack here. The pack covers everything from finding and preparing for a job to university, apprenticeships and the Kickstart Scheme.
Future Me is also recruiting for three new youth representatives to join the team.
The new representatives will get to work alongside a diverse and friendly team of youth reps, create exciting and engaging social media and printed content and get to work with young people across the county both online and at events.
Applicants need to be aged 16-25 and living in the county. The role is diverse, so applicants don't need to have every skill in the job description. The most important thing is to be able to listen, engage, share views with confidence and represent young people in Gloucestershire.
You can find the application pack here.
