Engineering apprenticeships at TBS

Applications are now open for apprenticeships at Gloucester-based TBS Engineering.

TBS provides apprentices with hands on specialist training, one-to-one mentoring and a chance to explore and experience all areas of the business.

The company launched its apprenticeship scheme seven years ago, in a bid to help more young people get into the engineering industry.

Since then, over 90 per cent of trainees have graduated from the scheme and continue to work at the company. TBS sees apprentices as the future of the company, in an industry full of opportunities for both problem solvers and hands-on team players.

How the programme works:

• The three-year engineering and manufacturing apprenticeship scheme, based in Gloucester begins with an initial year full time at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET), a specialist training facility for the engineering sector.

• In year 2, apprentices spend four days a week gaining work experience in all areas of the business and one day a week completing their Technical Certificate.

• In the final year, apprentices will complete their NVQ Level 3 and begin studying for an HNC.

Years 2 and 3 are structured for apprentices to experience different areas of the business and to identify where they want to focus in the future.

In their fourth year with the company, whilst transitioning into a permanent role, TBS will continue to provide day release for apprentices to complete their HNC.

TBS is committed to championing every apprentice on their own individual journey and will continue to support their career development as they settle into permanent employment.

TBS has a range of technical and commercial apprenticeships available at its Gloucester headquarters. For more information, visit http://www.tbseng.co.uk/apprenticeships

To apply for an apprenticeship, candidates need five GCSEs at grade A/9 - C/4, including maths, English and science.

To apply, send a CV with a covering letter demonstrating a passion for engineering to Kathrin Beckerleg at careers@tbsengineering.co.uk

The closing date for this year's scheme applications is 31st March 2021.
