Books and comics donated to county kids

A Gloucestershire-based reading charity has donated books and comics to support the county's children.

Read for Good, a national charity based in Nailsworth, has donated 450 Phoenix comics to county foodbanks, to celebrate pupils across the county taking the time to 'drop everything and read'.

It has also donated over 1,200 books and comics to Gloucester Culture Trust and county charity Play Gloucestershire to share with local children.

Among the schools taking part in drop everything and read is Denmark Road High School in Gloucester.

Read for Good's vision is for all children in the UK to be given the opportunity, space and motivation to develop their own love of reading. One of the things that motivates them to read is helping other kids.
