Heartbreak as county's two TGI Fridays close

Gloucestershire's two TGI Fridays restaurants have closed with immediate effect after the company went into administration.
The eateries at Gloucester Quays and on Cheltenham's Gloucester Road are among 35 to close, leading to about 1,000 job losses.

Punchline-Gloucester.com reported yesterday that a rescue package for the restaurant chain was being finalised.
A buyout by Breal Capital and Calveton UK has saved 51 locations and close to 2,400 jobs but has left Gloucestershire fans of the American-style eaterie heartbroken.
Gloucester steakhouse restaurant Miller & Carter has issued a message of solidarity for TGI Fridays on Facebook.
The message said: "Today, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey of our friends and neighbours at TGI Fridays, who have sadly announced some of their restaurants are closing. For years, they brought joy, flavour, and a sense of community to all of us. We are truly heartbroken to see them go.
"To the incredible teams at TGI Fridays, please know that you are not alone during this tough time. As your neighbours, we want to support you in any way we can. If you're seeking new opportunities, reach out to us — we would be more than happy to connect you with local businesses that are hiring.
"Thank you for the memories you've created and the warmth you've shared with our community. You will be missed, but your impact will remain in our hearts."
