Debenhams has revealed that six of its stores won't reopen after lockdown, with the threat to 320 jobs.

Gloucester's Debenhams store has survived the latest round of cuts.

But staff at stores in Worcester, Portsmouth, Staines, Harrogate and Weymouth weren't so lucky. They have been told their stores won't reopen after the end of Covid restrictions, as reported by Sky.

The company will also be leaving London's Oxford Street, after the administrator was unable to agree a lease extension with the landlord.

The department store chain's administrator FRP Advisory is in talks with a number of companies about the sale of all or part of the business. But plans are still going ahead to wind the company down.

Debenhams has been in administration since April last year, but its problems go back further than the coronavirus crisis.
