Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival set to be one of the best yet

Where: Montpellier Gardens, Montpellier Walk, Cheltenham GL50 1SD

When: Friday, June 14, to Sunday, June 16

This year's Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival in Montpellier Gardens promises to be one of the best yet.

Among the highlights will be two masterclasses with Joe Fattorini, the leading wine expert from Channel 5's 'The Wine Show', held in the Beronia International Wine Theatre.

Join Joe as he explores the rich history of Sherry and in the second masterclass explores wine from China to Canada. Places are limited for the one-hour classes so please book your ticket at £8 for the masterclasses. A festival entrance ticket will also be required so simply visit www.garden-events.com.

In addition to the wine masterclass, other wine experts offering a range of wine tasting include wines from South Africa, Croatia, New Zealand, Italy, California, France and Spain.

During the three-day festival, the Pittville Kitchens Chef's Theatre will play host to a number of inspiring chefs who will demonstrate their creative cooking, sharing their passion for food and some of their culinary tips.

Among the chefs who will be appearing are:

Dr Rupy Aujla, an NHS GP and founder of The Doctors Kitchen, inspiring people to eat a healthier, and sustainable lifestyle.

Sasha Gill, vegan blogger (@sasha_diaries) and Oxford University medical student grew up in Singapore. When Sasha moved to the UK and made the decision to turn vegan, she committed herself to creating plant-based versions of her favourite Asian dishes for everybody to try.

There will be a number of food and drink talks on a wide range of subjects during the course of the festival. For whisky lovers do not miss John Gordon's Whisky Tour tasting six very different whiskys, from six unique whisky producers.

A pint size solution to food waste, beer lovers have not been forgotten either. Did you know 44% of all bread baked in the UK is never eaten? Toast Ale brews award-winning beer from fresh, surplus bread that would otherwise have been wasted. We think it's the best thing since, well...you know what!

Cheese: a word to make the heart quicken and the stomach rumble. Heritage Cheese from London's Borough Market will be running cheese masterclasses. Each masterclass lasting approximately one hour, with ample tasting of cheese, plus light-hearted and fascinating stories behind the cheeses tasted. Each masterclass is accompanied by matching wine, beer, cider or spirits.

Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival also offers an exciting day out for children with street theatre.

There is live music throughout the weekend, and you will have the chance to buy a range of delicious foods, pickles, sweets and alcoholic items from over 170 exhibitors.

Tickets are available on pre-order from just £4 to £6 for adults and £10 for a two-day ticket.

Children under the age of 16 go free provided they are accompanied by a ticket purchasing adult. Pre-booking for the Joe Fattorini Masterclass is essential.
