Burglars target Cotswolds

Police are investigating after burglars struck twice overnight in the Cotswolds.

Officers believe the two break-ins are linked and thieves could have been after the homeowners vehicles.

At 2.30am on Thursday, July 11, a man woke to find an intruder in his bedroom in his home in Stow-on-the-Wold.

The intruder made a run for it, escaping through the front door before making off in a vehicle police believe was waiting outside.

About 45 minutes later police received a report of a burglary at a property in Bourton-on-the-Hill.

Nothing was stolen in either incident, but police think the offenders' intentions could have been to steal the homeowners' cars.

If anyone saw any suspicious activity in either of those villages, or has any information which would help with the investigation, they can call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incidents 37 and 42 of July 11.
