Printing company publishes its own demise

One of Gloucestershire's most high profile printing firms has announced it is no more.

Only last month it was helping ethical and eco-friendly product firm Atlas & Ortus prepare for Glastonbury Festival and, is it did with many of its jobs, telling people about it on Facebook.

Also in June it was revealing it had been working with Gloucestershire legends Green Gourmet producing graphics for the brand for its Stonehouse headquarters.

And it was working with Cotswold Farm Park at the Three Counties Show.

But then at the end of last week the firm, headquartered at Manchester Park off Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham, posted the following message on its Facebook page: "With great sadness, Bigger Printing has now ceased trading. We'd like to thank all of our clients who have made this journey wonderful."

Going back, after a successful 2016 the company was the subject of an article on Punchline-Gloucester.com in which it was looking forward to continued involvement with the likes of The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham.

From sports grounds to retail developments, shop fronts to universities, Cheltenham headquartered company with its state-of-the-art equipment appeared to have found its niche.

David Bowen, the head of brand, marketing and operations at The Bigger Printing Company, said: "For a few years there's been the suggestion that print is dying, but there is always going to be a demand for large format print, which is what we specialise in.

"That's especially the case with big outdoor print where it can be so much more cost effective than digital boards.

"Without doubt, print has still got an important place in the modern world, as the gains we've made this year bear out."

Punchline was unable to reach anyone at the business for a comment.
