X Factor star Lucy Spraggan announces Gloucester tour date

Where: Gloucester Guildhall

When: September 21, 2017

X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan is on tour with her new album, returning to Gloucester this September.

I Hope You Don't Mind Me Writing was released in January, charting at number 12 in the Official Top 40 Album Chart and was the second release under Lucy's own label, CTRL Records.

Frequently recognised as one of the leading lights in the LGBT community, Lucy has managed to build her fan base to a new high, with more than 12,000 tickets sold for her recent Dear You tour.

Her latest UK tour is calling in at Gloucester Guildhall on September 21. She last performed at the venue in March 2016.

Lucy appeared on The X Factor in 2012. Since then, her audition video has been viewed more than 40 million times. She achieved the unprecedented success of securing a top 20 single, Last Night and top 40 album, Top Room at the Zoo, while still competing on the TV show. She was also the most Googled musician of 2012.

Lucy immediately signed to Columbia and her debut album Join the Club was a top 10 success. Her next record We Are was released on her own label, after she opted to take the independent route.

Lucy's music-writing career began with Don Maclean and Kirsty McColl as her major influences, embellished with the folk riffs of Peter, Paul and Mary and taking on the punchy riffs of traditional RnB.

Tickets for her concert at Gloucester Guildhall on September 21 cost £14. Doors open at 7.30pm. Under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
