WWT Slimbridge awarded 96% as a Quality Visitor Attraction

Slimbridge Wetland Centre has scored 96% in its recent VAQAS (VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction) assessment.

The result again improves on previous high scores with a 1% increase from the 2019 assessment. Slimbridge is now also eligible to be nominated once again for the VisitEngland Gold Accolade.

VisitEngland were highly impressed by staff and volunteers at Slimbridge as well as the centre's new exhibits including Mission Possible and the Living Wetland Theatre and Waterscapes Aviary.

The assessor was furthermore impressed by Slimbridge's new app - Wetland Heroes, which they felt was entertaining and informative.

They also commented that the expanding visitor offer helped to both educate and entertain visitors and that for Slimbridge's assessment scores to be consistently high (and especially so during the Covid restrictions), means huge congratulations are in order for the entire team.

Visitor experience manager Fran Penny said: "We're really pleased to have once again improved on our score from the last assessment. The team work really hard to deliver a great day out to all our visitors and our latest score of 96% recognises their hard work. I'm really pleased that the assessor reviewed and enjoyed some of our newest attractions, including Mission Possible and the Living Wetland Theatre."

This visit was undertaken without a family and demonstrates that there is plenty to keep any visitor entertained and interested at Slimbridge whether you are interested in birds or not.
