World Pro Wrestling comes to Cheltenham
By David Wood
Professional wrestling in the UK is currently riding one of its highest waves of popularity, and at the forefront of that movement is World Pro Wrestling (WPW).
On Saturday, February 19th, at Cheltenham Town Hall, World Pro Wrestling are presenting an All-Star Extravaganza. Always guaranteed with WPW, is a stacked roster of international and British talent, and this occasion is no different.

Everyone loves to see legendary wrestlers perform in the UK and it doesn't get much better than former WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) star, a man who is internationally respected and loved, Tajiri. He will be wrestling on the night against one of British Wrestling's most recognised talents, Jody Fleisch, in what many people have immediately dubbed a "dream match".
Another big talking point is WPW World Champion 2 Cold Scorpio. He will be defending his title against a newcomer to World Pro Wrestling, but someone who is known from shows around the country; and that is MVK. This is one situation where you can definitely not underestimate the challenger to the belt, as MVK is a proven commodity in the ring; and whilst 2 Cold Scorpio is one of the top names in the professional wrestling business worldwide, there is a chance of a potential upset on the cards here.
Other talent scheduled to appear on the night include Hernandez (from Impact Wrestling), American independent star Andrew Anderson and James Mason, who is one of British Wrestling's best and most loved names. Other stars in action included Eddie Ryan, Joel Redman, Kenzo Richards and The Gloucester Gladiator Iestyn Rees.
Doors will open at 6pm, show time will be 6.30pm. Tickets are £30.00 (ringside), £25.00 (second row), and £20.00 (general admission). Tickets can be booked in advance via http://cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk/event/world-pr and via the box office number 01242 528764.
