3# Laugh your socks off with The HandleBards at Rococo Gardens, Painswick

The troupe is criss-crossing the country with new productions of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (16th and 17th June) and Romeo and Juliet (27th June), stopping off at the glorious Rococo Garden en route.

In usual HandlBards style, expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos and a great deal of laughter.

The fit actors travel with their set, props and costumes in tow, and will set up on the bowling green right in the heart of the historic garden. There they will present their own unique take on two of the Bard's best-known plays.

The HandleBards is made up of two troupes (one all-male, one all-female). The HandleBards Gents are performing Twelfth Night while the HandleBards Ladies will be performing Romeo and Juliet.

"The HandleBards' performances are amongst the most popular events of our year," said Rococo Garden director Dominic Hamilton.

Tickets cost £16 in advance/£18 on the night and are available from www.handlebards.com.

4# Admire the beautiful gardens in the village of Kempley, Forest of Dean

Visitors to the village of Kempley in the Forest of Dean have the chance to look around some fascinating gardens this weekend.

Kempley Open Gardens takes place on Sunday afternoon, with eight gardens open to the public to admire.

Organiser Naomi Cryer said: "Kempley is more famous for the daffodil weekend when we get hundreds of visitors walking through the village to admire the daffodils. But this year because we had snow for the daffodil weekend, there is the opportunity to come and have a look around some of the gardens.

"There are a huge variety of gardens to be admired. One gentleman keeps bees and he sells honey and vegetables from his garden, another has prize-winning bonsais, another is a typical cottage garden and there are also bigger village gardens with herbaceous beds."

Visitors can buy a 'passport' from the village hall for £6 and get entry to all eight gardens. There's a map on the inside with the names of the open gardens on it.

5# Get a taste of life on the farm at Three Counties Show, Malvern

Pinned as a landmark event in the agricultural calendar, the show's theatre also boasts a stellar line-up of local sporting stars and rural characters from across the three counties.

Back by popular demand, BBC Countryfile presenter and Gloucestershire farmer, Adam Henson, is making a return for 2018 as show ambassador and will take to the stage each day to share his expert farming knowledge.

Bargain Hunt and Flog It! regular Phillip Serrel will be stopping by on both the Friday and Saturday to show off his impressive antique knowledge and auctioneering skills.

Having played more matches for his hometown club than any other current player, multi-award-winning Worcester Warriors centurion, Jonny Arr shares tales from his outstanding career on Saturday.
